Starlight

The grand foyer of New York's Radio City Music Hall, with its soaring ceiling and Art Deco chandeliers, inspired the room setting called Starlight, which is also a follow up to Limelight. This glittering space was planned as the setting for a champagne party, where a select group of pretentious ladies and gentlemen dressed to the nines could circulate across the colorful glass floor.

The Party Continues

Peter Tucker created the chandeliers and wall sconces for this project, and they are wonderfully reflected in the mirrored ceiling above. The walls are covered with gold and silver leaf paper, and the lighted corner niches are trimmed with polished stainless steel. A mirrored butler's door on the main level leads to the service area, and a second door at the top of the stairs leads to an imaginary room. The hand laid glass tile floor of many colors expands like the feathers of a proud peacock in a special show of ostentation.

Constructed of Birch plywood, solid pine, basswood, stainless steel, paper, and glass.

Room dimensions: 19" square base; 24" high back to top
